I'm just trying to make sure I get the right thing here... this elbow, it's got a SAE O-ring boss on one side and a hose barb on the other, right?

That's correct. The 08HB-06MAORB elbow features a 9/16-18 male SAE adjustable O-ring boss (ORB) port on one end and a 1/2" OD hose barb on the other. This allows for a 90-degree connection between the two different fitting types.
