pump says CW rotation, does that mean it wont work if my system runs the shaft counterclockwise?

Correct, rotation matters on vane pumps. This unit is built for clockwise rotation only, so running it backwards will cause it to cavitate and fail pretty quick. If your power source turns counterclockwise, you'd need a different model rated for CCW rotation. Worth double-checking your drive direction before mounting it up.

got a 45VQ50A86B20 on the machine now. is SKU 433252-2 that exact pump or am i mixin stuff up?
