both ends on this fitting are male BSPP, so what exactly does the "adjustable" part mean for the second side?

The adjustable designation on side two means that end can be rotated and locked into position during installation, letting you fine-tune the orientation of the elbow before you tighten it down. Both sides carry the same G 1/4-19 male BSPP thread, but that adjustability on side two gives you a bit more freedom when you're working in a tight spot and need the outlet pointing just right without having to torque the whole assembly.

trying to replace a 45 degree elbow on my hydraulic line, is this one male BSPP on both ends and 1/4 size?
