pump's only 5.75 inches wide, will that fit alongside the existing hydraulic setup on a loader backhoe without a bunch of reworking?

At 5.75 inches wide, this pump runs pretty compact for what it does, which is a big part of why it gets spec'd on loader backhoes in the first place. That application is listed right alongside mining machinery and ag tractors as a primary fit, so the footprint was clearly part of the design intent. Whether it drops straight into your existing envelope depends on your frame and mounting arrangement, but the narrow width gives you more clearance to work with than a lot of comparable open circuit piston pumps in this class.
