Will this pump work on my old Case backhoe?

This Danfoss/Eaton X20 pump is used in a variety of backhoes, including some Case models, along with other applications like cable plows, mining machinery, and dump truck lifts. To be sure, check your equipment's specifications for compatibility.

pump's got a 62cc displacement, that work for mini excavators and rough terrain forklifts, or is it better suited for bigger iron like crawler dozers?

That displacement puts it right in range for all of those. The X20 420 series covers mini excavators, rough terrain forklifts, and crawler dozers, along with a pretty wide list of other mobile equipment. Concrete and asphalt pavers, articulated haulers, feller/bunchers, loader backhoes, it's a broad fit for open circuit mobile applications, not just the heavy end of the lineup.
