pump's only 5.75 inches wide but we run it on some pretty heavy loader backhoe cycles, that gonna be enough unit for that kind of work?

For loader backhoe applications, this is actually one of the use cases the pump was built around. The X20 420 Series handles high pressure and high flow demands, so it's not going to be undersized for that duty. The compact width is just a packaging advantage, not a trade-off on output.
