Product Questions & Answers

Running a crawler dozer on a pretty rough job site and been shopping for a pump in the 60cc range. This 420 Series unit from Danfoss/Eaton fit what I need, or is it more suited to lighter equipment?
Question by: Jimmy A on Jul 30, 2025, 9:12 PM
For a crawler dozer, this is actually a solid match. The 420 Series is built around heavy-duty mobile applications, and crawler dozers are explicitly part of what it's engineered for. At 3.80 CID (62 cc) displacement with high pressure and flow capacity, it's not a light-duty unit. The design also accounts for variable duty cycles, which matters on rough terrain where load demands shift constantly. It's an open circuit axial piston pump, so make sure your system is set up accordingly, but from an application standpoint you're in the right territory.

Will this pump hold up okay on a dump truck lift, you think?
Question by: Harvey C on Nov 17, 2025, 6:15 AM
Application-wise, it's definitely suitable. The Eaton 420 series is used on dump truck lifts, along with other heavy equipment like loaders and excavators.
