Product Questions & Answers

pump's rated for mobile equipment use, but does it actually hold up on something like a crawler dozer or mini excavator running hard all day?
Question by: Brenda H on Feb 6, 2026, 4:02 PM
Crawler dozers and mini excavators are both listed application types for this pump, so it's built with that kind of workload in mind. The 420 Series is engineered for high pressure and high flow demands, which is exactly what you get on heavy mobile equipment running through a full shift. The fast response and recovery characteristics are also a real advantage on machines where the hydraulic system is cycling constantly throughout the day.

Reckon this pump would hold up on my old log loader? We run it pretty hard out in the woods.

Use-case-first. The Danfoss/Eaton 420 Series is built for demanding mobile hydraulic applications. It should be able to handle the continuous operation of equipment like feller/bunchers and log loaders, as long as the pressure and flow requirements are within the pump's specifications.
