Got a mini excavator and a crawler dozer both needing pump work done this season. this 420 series unit fit either one of them, or is it built more for one type of machine over the other?

Both those machines are right in the wheelhouse for this pump. The 420 Series was put together with exactly that kind of mobile equipment in mind, and mini excavators along with crawler dozers are both listed applications for it. At 3.00 CID (49 cc) per revolution, it moves serious volume, and the platform is built to handle the variable-load duty cycles those machines throw at it. Running it across both pieces of equipment in your fleet is a reasonable expectation given what this pump is rated for.
