Got a mini excavator and a crawler dozer both needing pump work done this season. This the kind of pump that covers both them machines, or is it more specialized toward one type?

Both of those applications fall squarely within what this pump was built for. The X20 420 Series covers a pretty wide range of mobile equipment, and mini excavators along with crawler dozers are both explicitly listed. The 3.80 CID displacement and the open circuit axial piston design handle the kind of frequent load changes that come with that type of equipment. One pump family, multiple machines.
