pump says it works on loader backhoes and mining equipment -- would it also hold up on a concrete paver or one of them rough terrain forklifts?

Both of those are listed applications for this pump. The 420 Series is built for exactly that kind of mobile equipment, so concrete and asphalt pavers and rough terrain forklifts are well within what it's rated for. High pressure and flow capacity are part of what makes it practical across that range of machinery.

This Danfoss/Eaton piston pump is used in loader backhoes as well as agriculture tractors, mining machinery, and even some material handling trucks.
