Got a vibratory cable plow sittin' idle cause the pump went out on it. This a straight swap for open circuit piston setups on that kind of machine?

Open circuit piston pumps are exactly what vibratory cable plows run on, and the X20 420 Series fits right into that application. The 3.80 CID displacement and the high pressure and flow capacity on this unit are built to handle the kind of continuous demand those machines put out. As long as your current setup is pulling from an open circuit piston configuration, you're in the right product family.

Will this piston pump fit my older Char-Lynn system without a bunch of modifications?

It's designed as a direct replacement for many Char-Lynn open circuit piston pump applications, especially in mobile equipment. Check the specs against your existing pump, but it should drop right in for loader backhoes, cable plows, and other similar machinery.
