Product Questions & Answers

Hey, I'm looking to replace the hydraulic pump on my backhoe. Will this Danfoss/Eaton pump fit the bill?
Question by: Dean P on Oct 28, 2025, 10:19 AM
For loader backhoes and similar heavy equipment, this Danfoss/Eaton X20 series pump is often a good fit. It's designed for demanding mobile hydraulic applications.

Got a mini excavator that's been eating pumps and I'm trying to step up to something built tougher. This a open circuit axial piston setup or one of them gear-driven units?
Question by: Ross J on Mar 28, 2026, 2:35 PM
Open circuit axial piston, built on the Danfoss X20 420 Series platform. That's a meaningful step up from gear-driven pumps in terms of pressure handling and flow capacity. Mini excavators are actually one of the listed application fits for this pump, so you're not forcing a square peg into a round hole here. The 3.00 cubic inch displacement puts it at 49cc, which gives you solid output for the kind of duty cycles excavators run through.
