Product Questions & Answers

Will this Eaton piston pump work on my older John Deere tractor, it's mainly for running an aftermarket loader I put on it?
Question by: Gary B on Jan 12, 2026, 7:56 PM
This 420 Series pump, with its 2.50 CID (41cc) displacement, is often found in agricultural tractors. Whether it’s the right fit depends on the loader's hydraulic demands and your tractor's original pump specs. Checking those against this pump's flow and pressure capacity will tell you for sure.

Got a mini excavator that's been eating through pumps, been running a 2.50 CID axial piston unit but not sure if this 420 Series is the right fit for that kind of application. It cycle pretty hard throughout the day.
Question by: Terry W on Jun 21, 2025, 8:40 PM
Mini excavators are actually one of the listed applications for this pump, so you're in the right ballpark. The 420 Series is built around fast response and recovery times, which matters a lot on equipment that's cycling hard and often. If your current displacement matches the 2.50 CID (41 cc) spec on this unit, it lines up on that front. The open circuit design also fits how most mini excavator hydraulic systems are set up.
