Product Questions & Answers

What kind of machines does this Eaton pump work on?
Question by: Harvey G on Aug 18, 2025, 4:02 PM
This pump is designed for mobile hydraulic applications like loader backhoes, agriculture tractors, and mini excavators. It's also used in concrete and asphalt pavers, as well as material handling trucks.

We run loader backhoes and a couple crawler dozers pretty hard through the season. This the kind of pump that can keep up with that kind of workload, or is it more of a light-duty deal?
Question by: Glen J on Apr 27, 2025, 8:25 AM
Heavy-duty cycles are exactly what this pump is built around. The X20 420 Series is listed for loader backhoes and crawler dozers specifically, and the high pressure and flow capacity backs that up in practice. It's an open circuit piston pump, which means it's suited for the kind of sustained, demanding use those machines put on a hydraulic system. Response and recovery times on this series are also noted as among the fastest available, so when your equipment needs the system to react quickly, you're not sitting there waiting on it.
