Product Questions & Answers

Got a mini excavator and a crawler dozer both needing pump work, this the kind of unit that fits those machines, or is it built more for one type over the other?
Question by: Frank W on Jul 7, 2025, 6:03 AM
Both of those are squarely in the intended application range for this pump. The 420 Series X20 platform covers mini excavators and crawler dozers along with a pretty wide spread of other heavy mobile equipment. It's an open circuit axial piston pump built for high pressure and high flow demands, so the kind of load cycles those machines put on a hydraulic system are well within what this unit is meant to handle.

This Danfoss/Eaton open circuit piston pump is designed for heavy-duty mobile equipment. You can use it on agriculture tractors, crawler dozers, mini excavators, concrete and asphalt pavers, and container handling machinery. It's also good for loader backhoes, vibratory cable plows, mining machinery, tunnel boring equipment, railroad equipment, dump truck lifts, utility boom trucks, off-road refuse trucks, material handling and rough terrain forklifts, feller/bunchers, forwarders, log loaders, and articulated haulers.
