running a refuse hauler and need something that won't take up a ton of space on the valve bank, does this vickers unit actually hold up at high pressure or is it more of a light duty thing?

That pressure rating puts it well within range for demanding mobile applications like refuse haulers, which is actually one of the specific uses it's built for.
