what kind of jobs is this valve actually built for? seen it listed for harvesters but wondering if it fits other mobile equipment too

Harvesters and refuse haulers are the primary call-outs, but the S220HN is rated for both mobile and industrial hydraulic applications more broadly. Anything in that category running at or under 350 bar and needing a compact 3-way 2-position valve is fair territory for it.

Hey, reckon this here Vickers valve would hold up okay on a silage chopper?

Application-wise, the S220HN is used on harvesters, so it should be able to handle the demands of a silage chopper just fine.
