brass fitting gonna hold up running through an industrial plant setup, or is this more of a light-duty thing?

Brass is a solid choice for general industrial use, and this coupling is built for exactly that kind of environment. It carries a Buna-N seal and a ball lock internal connection, which keeps things secure under normal plant operating conditions.
