Does this nut need any kind of adjustment or fine-tuning once its installed, or is it pretty much a set-it-and-forget-it deal?

No adjustment needed at all. The X0190 is non-adjustable by design, so once it's in place it stays put. No calibration, no additional hardware to fuss with. It's meant to drop into an existing setup without adding extra steps to your install process.
