does this socket work with a standard 3/8 NPTF port or do I need some kind of adapter to hook it up?

Straight connection, no adapter needed. The 3S21 has a 3/8-18 NPTF female thread on the port end, so it threads directly onto any standard 3/8-18 NPTF male fitting. The body is brass and the internal lock is ball-style, so once it's threaded in and torqued down you're good to go.

i’m trying to swap out an old Hansen socket, is this 3S21 the female half with 3/8-18 NPTF threads?
