got a tight spot on a hydraulic line, is this the kind of fitting that kicks it over at 45 degrees?

A 45 degree elbow fitting is meant to change the direction of a hydraulic line without making a sharp 90 degree turn. This Midland Industries part does that with a 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch connection.

Correct, it's a 45-degree elbow. Both ends are 1/2 inch, so if you're replacing a fitting on a half-inch hydraulic line and need that angled routing, this one from Midland Industries is a straight swap.
