Will this elbow work with standard hydraulic fittings, or do I need something special?

This Midland Industries elbow uses standard connections. One end accepts a 3/8" fitting, and the other takes a 1/4" fitting.

Got a 3/8 line coming off a pump and need to step it down to 1/4 inch before it hits the valve block. Would this fitting handle that transition at a 45 degree angle?
