Got a line running 5/8 tube that needs to turn 90 degrees before it drops down to a 3/8 connection, this fitting handle that kind of transition?

That's what it's built for. The S769AB-10-6V connects a 5/8" OD tube on one end to a 3/8" OD tube on the other, and it makes that turn at a full 90 degrees. So if you've got a size change and a direction change happening at the same point in your line, one fitting takes care of both without needing extra adapters in between.
