Is this tee fitting something I can take apart later without messing up the pipes around it?

Exactly right. The union design on this Midland Industries tee lets you disconnect it for service or replacement without having to disturb the rest of your 3/8" line.

got a 3/8 line and need to add a branch without tearing half the run apart. is that what this union tee is for
