trying to swap out an old Hansen plug, is this 3804 the one with a 3/8-18 NPTF male thread and a 3/8 body?

It’s a Hansen male half plug with a 3/8-18 NPTF male pipe thread and a 3/8 inch body size, made in carbon steel with a Buna-N seal. It’s the 210/310 Series quick disconnect plug style and uses a push-to-connect end.

does this plug use a pin lock or some other kind of locking setup? got burned before buying couplings that came loose under pressure

Pin lock is what holds this one together. It's a mechanical retention system built into the coupling that keeps the plug seated even when line pressure is working against it. For maintenance and repair setups where vibration or pressure spikes are a concern, that's the kind of security you want on a quick disconnect.
