got a dump truck pump setup now, does this one run counterclockwise and still keep the outlet lined up with the inlet?

Rotation is CCW on this model, and the port location is listed as in-line with the outlet, so it matches a counterclockwise, in-line port layout.

pump says CCW rotation on the shaft, is that looking at the shaft end or the back of the unit?

CCW rotation on this pump is determined from the shaft end, meaning if you're standing in front of the pump looking directly at the 1-1/4 straight keyed shaft, the shaft turns counterclockwise. Getting that backwards will cause flow to go the wrong direction, so it's worth double-checking before you bolt it up.
