Product Questions & Answers

Will this fitting hold up in an air brake system, or do I need something beefier?
Question by: Darryl J on Dec 5, 2025, 10:35 AM
This Aeroquip fitting is engineered specifically for air brake hose lines, so it should be well-suited for that application. It's also got Dura-Kote plating for corrosion resistance.

fitting's made of brass and has that Dura-Kote plating on it, so how well's it gonna hold up in a environment where there's a good bit of moisture and road grime involved?
Question by: Tony T on May 28, 2025, 11:33 AM
Brass construction combined with Dura-Kote plating puts this fitting in solid shape for corrosive conditions. The plating is specifically there to fight off rust and deterioration, which matters a lot on air brake hose lines that take a constant beating from road spray, salt, and general grime. It won't just hold up, it's built to extend the life of the whole hose assembly over time.

Trying to hook up an air brake hose line, is this the right kind of fitting or is it more for hydraulic stuff?
Question by: Merle F on Jul 17, 2025, 7:36 AM
For air brake hose lines, this RIDGIT fitting assembly is a match. It is built for line, hose, or tube connections and uses a male 0.375 PTF SAE short end.
