What kind of applications is this motor best suited for? I'm looking at using it for a material lift.

Primarily, this Eaton Vickers M Series vane motor is applied to elevator scraper drives, hydrostatic drives, and other auxiliary applications.

seal material on this motor -- is it buna-n standard or is that something that gets swapped out depending on the application?

Buna-N is the standard seal material on the 25M65A 1C20 as it comes from the factory. That's not a field-swappable option listed for this unit, so what you see is what you get out of the box. For most hydraulic fluid applications that seal compound holds up well, but if your system runs something aggressive or outside normal operating ranges, that's worth factoring into your decision before ordering.
