This here valve is listed for harvesters and refuse haulers. Could it work on, say, a log splitter?

Use-case-first. While it's spec'd for harvesters and refuse trucks, this Vickers valve should be fine in other mobile and industrial hydraulic setups if the flow rate and pressure are right. Just double-check your system's needs.

Got a harvester that needs a proportional valve swap and I keep seein' this ERV1-10 come up. What's it actually rated to handle flow-wise?

Rated flows go up to 160 litres per minute, which works out to about 42 US gallons per minute. The operational flow rate on this particular unit sits at 60 litres per minute. For harvester applications that's a solid fit, and it runs on a 12-volt system so it should drop right into most standard mobile setups without a lot of fuss.
