Can this handle dirty oil, or do I need a super clean system?

Hardened and ground steel construction makes this valve more tolerant of typical hydraulic fluids, though best performance will always come from maintaining a clean system.

Running a refuse hauler and need a solenoid valve that can keep up with the pressure demands on that system. This one rated for 5000 psi?

350 bar which works out to 5000 psi. That's the max operating pressure on this valve, so for a refuse hauler application it's well within range. It's a 2-way 2-position normally closed design, meaning it stays shut until the solenoid energizes, which is pretty standard for that kind of mobile hydraulic setup.
