Got a refuse hauler that needs a new solenoid valve and I keep seeing this one come up. It handle 5000 psi alright or is that just a peak number?

5000 psi is the rated pressure ceiling for this valve, not just a burst or momentary figure. Running it on a refuse hauler is exactly the kind of application it was built around, along with harvesters and similar mobile equipment. The 3/8 port size and normally closed 2-way, 2-position setup are pretty standard for those circuits, so if your system is running 24 volt and stays within that pressure and flow range, you're in solid territory.
