Reckon this would be alright for a splitter on my old harvester? Don't want to overload anything.

This valve is often used in harvesters, so it should work in that application. Just make sure your system doesn't exceed the 350 bar (5000 psi) pressure limit or the 60 liters per minute flow rate.

runs at 24 volts -- that gonna work fine on standard mobile equipment electrical systems, or do I need some kind of converter for it?

24-volt DC is pretty common on larger mobile machines like refuse haulers and harvesters, so odds are good it'll tie right into your existing system without any extra hardware. That said, smaller ag equipment sometimes runs 12-volt, so just double-check your machine's electrical spec before ordering. The valve itself is rated for 24V and that's what it's built around.

got a 24v machine, but i need the valve to stay shut until i power it up. is this one normally closed?
