Running this on a refuse hauler setup, does the 24 volt coil work straight off a standard truck electrical system, or is there some kind of converter needed?

Most refuse haulers run a 24-volt electrical system, so this valve should wire right in without any voltage conversion. The coil is rated for 24-volt operation, which lines up directly with what those trucks typically carry off the factory floor. Just make sure your circuit can handle the current draw and you've got a solid ground connection before you button everything up.
