Been running one of these on a harvester for a while now and it finally gave out, does this Toughcoil replace direct, or is there some fitting work involved to get it seated right?

Vickers J Series coils like this one are built with a compact form factor, so they tend to drop into tight machine envelopes without a lot of rework. That said, any coil swap should account for the mounting orientation and connector position on your specific valve body. The internally rectified design means you won't need an external rectifier in the circuit, which keeps the installation cleaner than older-style coils that required one.
