coil says it's for SICV coils, that the only thing this'll work with, or is there more flexibility there?

For this particular coil, SICV coils are what it's built to serve. That's the compatible valve family confirmed for this part. If your setup uses a different valve type, you'd want to verify the coil family before ordering, because outside of SICV, there's no confirmed fit documented for this one.
