runs continuous duty or is it meant for short cycles only?

Continuous duty is built right into this coil. The internal rectification and Toughcoil construction make it suited for extended runtime without needing to cycle off and rest, which is exactly what you want when you're running something like a refuse hauler or harvester where stopping isn't really an option.
