Reducer bushings let you connect two ports that aren't the same size. This one specifically bridges a 3/8" port down to a 1/4" port, so if you've got a component with a 3/8" opening and you need to run a 1/4" line into it, this is what makes that work without having to swap out fittings or modify anything.
