i keep seeing “S213-2” in my parts notes. is that what this brass fitting is, or is it just a generic brass piece?

Both numbers refer to the same part. Midland Industries uses 28075 as the supplier part number, and S213-2 is the product model designation. Either one should get you to the right fitting when you're ordering or cross-referencing.
