got a panel i'm routing hydraulic lines through and need a tee right at the wall, does this fitting actually mount through the panel itself or does it just sit against it?

Mounts right through the panel. The bulkhead design means you drill a hole, pass the fitting through, and secure it from the other side with a locknut. That keeps your lines from flopping around and gives you a clean transition point from one side of the enclosure to the other. All three ports are 1/4 in. male JIC, so you're branching a line at the wall rather than somewhere out in the open run.
