What kind of environments is this fitting actually built for? We run equipment hard and can't afford stuff rusting out on us.

Carbon steel with Dura-Kote plating is what you're getting here, and that coating is specifically there to fight off corrosion in demanding conditions. Mobile equipment, mining use, shipyards, primary metals work, wind power setups, heavy industrial environments in general. If your application falls into any of those categories, this fitting was put together with that kind of punishment in mind. The plating is meant to extend the life of the whole hose assembly, not just the fitting itself.
