Will this pump work okay in cold weather, like down below freezing?

pump direction reversible on this unit, or do I have to order a specific rotation when I buy it?

Field reversible means you can switch the rotation direction yourself without sending it back or ordering a different unit. That kind of flexibility comes in handy when you're fitting it into an existing circuit that wasn't originally spec'd for a particular pump orientation.
