How wide is this pump unit? Just need to make sure it'll fit in the space I got.

It measures 5.12 inches wide, so you can check that against your available space.

pump direction on this thing, is it something you can flip yourself out in the field, or does it need to go back to a shop?

Field reversible is built right into the design on this Series 26 pump, so you don't have to pull it and send it anywhere. If your circuit needs a direction change, that's something you can handle on-site without specialized tooling or a rebuild.
