pump says it's field reversible -- does that mean I can swap the rotation direction myself without sending it back or getting a whole new unit?

the rotation direction on this one can be changed out in the field, so you're not locked into whatever way it came set up from the factory. That's a real convenience when you're fitting it into a machine where the hydraulic connections runs a certain way and you need the pump to spin accordingly. No need to source a different model just because your setup calls for a different direction.
