pump'll work on a fan drive circuit or is it really only meant for steering and ground drive stuff?

Fan drive systems are actually listed as one of the supported applications for this pump, alongside steering circuits, lift trucks, compactors, and several others. The Series 26 fixed displacement design handles a pretty wide range of mobile and industrial hydraulic uses, so running it on a fan drive setup is well within what it's built for.

Operation in cold environments is supported. This pump has a minimum working temperature rating of -20 degrees.
