pump says it's field reversible, how hard is that to actually do, and do you need special tools for it?

Reversing the rotation on this pump is something you can handle in the field without sending it back or swapping it out for a different unit. The Series 26 gear pump is built with that flexibility in mind, so the process doesn't require exotic tooling.
