pump says field reversible, does that mean I can swap the rotation direction myself out in the shop without sendin it back somewhere?

Yeah, that's exactly what it means. The Series 26 is built so you can change the pump's rotation direction right there in the field without any special tooling or sending it off. That kind of flexibility matters a lot when you're swapping it into a system that runs opposite to what the previous pump did, or if you're retrofitting it into a machine with a different drive setup.
