what's the width on this idler gear, and is it sold as just the gear or does it come with anything else?

Width on that part comes in at 0.86 inches. As for what you get in the box, it's the idler gear itself, so no extra hardware or sub-components bundled in. Straightforward replacement part for piston pump maintenance.
