What's this body made out of, and is that gonna hold up alright in a working hydraulic setup?

Aluminum is the material here, which is pretty standard for piston pump body components in industrial hydraulic systems. It keeps weight manageable without sacrificing the structural integrity needed for normal pump operation. For a maintenance or rebuild situation on a Danfoss or Eaton piston pump, aluminum construction like this is well within what those applications call for.
