pump says it's field reversible, does that mean I can swap the rotation direction myself out in the shop without sending it off somewhere?

Yeah, that's exactly what it means. You can change the pump's rotation direction right there in your shop without having to send it out or order a separate unit for the opposite rotation. That kind of flexibility comes in handy when you're fitting it into a machine that runs the drive shaft a different direction than what you originally planned for.
